About WeebRate

A free, community-driven platform built by anime fans for anime fans — where your opinion shapes what the community watches next.

What is WeebRate?

WeebRate is a community-driven platform for anime fans to discover, rate, and discuss anime. Whether you want to track your watchlist, write in-depth reviews, build tier lists, debate the strongest characters, or explore every season's best shows — WeebRate gives you the tools to do it, entirely free.

We believe every fan's opinion matters. WeebRate surfaces real community scores alongside editorial guides and AI-powered recommendations — so you can find your next favourite anime based on what genuinely resonates with viewers like you, not just what's trending on a streaming algorithm.

Everything on WeebRate is Free

Rate & Review Anime

Score any anime from 1–10 and write detailed reviews. Your scores contribute to community averages that help other fans decide what to watch.

Build Tier Lists

Create and share S-through-F tier rankings of your favourite anime. Collaborate with friends in real time and see how your list compares to the community.

Track Your Watchlist

Log what you're watching, completed, planning to watch, or dropped. Import your existing list from AniList in one click.

AI Recommendations

WeebRate uses Claude AI to analyse your watchlist and taste profile, then suggests 10 anime you're genuinely likely to love — not just what's popular.

Power Rankings & Battles

Vote on character power levels, submit detailed battle analyses, and participate in community debates about who wins in cross-universe matchups.

Community & Predictions

Follow a live feed of community activity, post predictions about upcoming arcs and series endings, and vote on what the fandom thinks will happen next.

Follow Every Anime Season

Anime follows a seasonal broadcast calendar — new shows arrive every January, April, July, and October. WeebRate's Seasonal Tracker lets you rate the current season's shows as they air, add series to your watchlist with one click, and see a community leaderboard that updates weekly. You can router forward and back through previous seasons to find shows you missed.

The community rating on each seasonal show reflects genuine fan opinion — rated by viewers who are watching it week by week, not critics reviewing the complete season months later. This makes it one of the most reliable real-time signals for which seasonal shows are worth your time.

Character Wiki

WeebRate's Character Wiki lets you browse thousands of anime characters, view their profiles and biography (sourced from AniList's community-maintained database), and favourite the characters that mean the most to you. You can also submit memorable quotes from any character — voted up by the community to surface the lines that define each character's personality.

Character pages link directly to all the anime a character appears in, so you can quickly router from a favourite character to the series they're from and add it to your watchlist.

XP, Levels & Badges

WeebRate rewards community participation with an XP system. You earn experience points for writing reviews, rating anime, creating tier lists, submitting battle analyses, voting on character power scores, and more. XP accumulates into levels, and reaching milestones unlocks badges that display on your public profile.

Badges range from common (first review) to epic (100 anime rated, 10 tier lists created). The leaderboard shows the top contributors by XP, giving the most active community members recognition for their contributions.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build the most honest and useful anime community resource on the internet. We want to make it easy for fans to find their next favourite series based on genuine community opinion — not marketing budgets — and to give anime discussions a home that goes deeper than social media threads.

  • Surface great anime that might otherwise go unnoticed
  • Give community voices equal weight to critics and platforms
  • Provide tools that make the watching experience more rewarding
  • Create a space for thoughtful debate about anime craft and power systems
  • Keep everything free and accessible to fans everywhere

Data Sources & Transparency

Anime metadata — including titles, cover art, episode counts, genres, descriptions, and character information — is sourced from the AniList API, one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date anime databases in the world. AniList is a community-maintained project and we are grateful for their open API which makes broad anime discovery possible.

All user-generated content on WeebRate — reviews, tier lists, power rankings, watchlists, battle analyses, community quotes, and predictions — is created and owned by the WeebRate community. AI-powered recommendations are generated using Anthropic's Claude model based on each user's personal watch history and are never shared with third parties.

Privacy & Security

WeebRate is built on Supabase (PostgreSQL with Row Level Security) and uses Supabase Auth for secure account management. Your watchlist and profile data are private by default — only you can see your watchlist status and settings. Reviews, tier lists, and other community contributions are public. We do not sell user data. Read our full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
